Vuelos Internos Privados (under the brand name VIP ) was an Ecuadorian airline based in Quito , which was merged into AeroGal in 2012 .

history

Vuelos Internos Privados SA was founded in 1997 as a charter airline . The start of flight operations took place with a Dornier 328 , which the company took over in July 1997. From 2001, VIP also operated regional scheduled flights in Germany. The Synergy Group , which among other things also holds the majority in Avianca Holdings , bought the regional airline completely in 2003. Avianca Holdings merged VIP in 2012 with the airline AeroGal , which it also owns.

Destinations

In 2010, VIP operated scheduled flights from Quito to El Coca and Nueva Loja . AeroGal codeshared connections from Quito to Manta and Cuenca with the company. In addition, VIP was also active in charter traffic, including for the oil industry.
