history

Before 1794, all localities in the administrative district of the mayor's office belonged to the County of Vianden in the Duchy of Luxembourg ( Quartier Vianden ). In 1794 French revolutionary troops occupied the Austrian Netherlands , to which the Duchy of Luxembourg belonged, and annexed it in October 1795 . Under the French administration , the area belonged to the canton Vianden in the Arrondissement Diekirch , which belonged to the department of forests .

Due to the resolutions at the Congress of Vienna in 1815, the former Luxembourg area east of the Sauer and Our was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia . Under the Prussian administration, new administrative districts and districts were formed in 1816 ; on the left bank of the Rhine, Prussia generally retained the administrative districts of the French Mairies for the time being. The mayor's office in Kruchten was the same as the previous Mairie Kruchten. The mayor's office Kruchten existed until 1860 and became part of the mayor's office in Körperich .

All localities are now administratively part of the Südeifel community in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate .
