Baasdorf is a district of the city of Koethen (Anhalt) in Saxony-Anhalt , Germany. Local mayor is Heiko Welz (2008).

Geographical location

The Köthens airfield is about 1.5 kilometers north of Baasdorf . The actual city of Köthen (Anhalt) begins immediately north of the airport. Arensdorf is about 1.5 kilometers east of the village, Görzig about five kilometers south, Maasdorf three kilometers southwest and a little more west of Edderitz .

There were documentary mentions of Baghestorp and Bastorp in 1362 and 1370. Owners were in 1362 the knights Jakob and Johannes von Bastorp and the brothers of Johannes Johann and Konrad . In 1370, von Garren and von Gruben (also von Gruban ) were named as owners of estates in Baasdorf. In 1995 Baasdorf formed an administrative partnership with Arensdorf and Köthen. On January 1, 2004, the place was then incorporated into Köthen.
