Arensdorf is a village in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt . The village belongs to the city of Köthen (Anhalt) , the local mayor is Tobias Kasperski.

Geographical location

The town of Köthen (Anhalt) begins about four kilometers north of the village. Baasdorf is about 1.5 kilometers west of Arensdorf, Gahrendorf about two kilometers south. The village of Prosigk is about three kilometers to the southeast .

history

The first written mention of Arensdorf comes from the year 1283. At that time, the property was owned by the von Isenborch family . In 1362 25 Zehnthufen belonged to Arensdorf.

The manor Großweißandt with its Vorwerk Gahrendorf in the principality of Anhalt-Köthen was transferred in 1751 from the Harbker line to the Ostrauer line of the family von Veltheim .

In 1995 Arensdorf formed an administrative partnership with Baasdorf and Köthen. On January 1, 2004, the place was then incorporated into Köthen.

Arensdorf train stop

Arensdorf has its own train stop on the western edge of the town. The German track here offers regional train connections to Halle (Saale) and Magdeburg .

Federal highway 183 runs about one kilometer east of the village .
