The Bach von dem Vierstöck , also called Bach von den Vierstöck , is a two-kilometer long right and east tributary of the Gersprenz .

The stream of the four-storey rises at an altitude of 377  m above sea level. NHN in the Odenwald near the hamlet of Vierstöck belonging to the Ober-Kainsbach district of Reichelsheim , a former inn on the federal road 47 . The brook marks the boundary of Ober-Kainsbach and Kirch-Beerfurth over a long stretch .

The brook reaches the locality of Kirch-Beerfurth on Darmstädter Straße and finally flows out at an altitude of 193  m above sea level. NHN just below the local connection road (in town: Brückenstraße ) to Pfaffen-Beerfurth in a branch of the Gersprenz .

Catchment area

From a natural point of view, the catchment area of ​​the Bach von dem Vierstöck lies in the Vorderen Odenwald . the upper course belongs to the Böllsteiner Odenwald and the mouth is in the lower area of ​​the Gersprenztal .

In the northeast and east it borders on the catchment area of ​​the Kainsbach river and in the south the brook competes on the Margrund , which also flows into the Gersprenz.

The highest point in the catchment area is the approximately 404  m high castle hill . The forest predominates on the upper reaches and fields and meadows dominate in the lower reaches. In its catchment area are the hamlets of Hutzwiese and Vierstöck as well as the village of Kirch-Beerfurth in the area of ​​the mouth.

Gersprenz river system

Early use

The stream flowing west through a wooded gorge served the medieval castle of Beerfurther Schlösschen for drinking water supply. In the valley floor below the mountain spur protruding to the northwest into the valley is still the remains of the Schlösschensborn spring formation .
