history

Badrina is a little village in terms of the type of settlement . The place was first mentioned in 1349 as Boderin . Like most of the region, the name comes from Slavic and means something like fresh . Around 1529 Badrina belonged to the Eilenburg Office and from 1551 to 1815, like the current district of Scholitz, to the Delitzsch Office of Electoral Saxony . As a result of the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna , Badrina and Scholitz came to Prussia and in 1816 were assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony , to which they belonged until 1952. In 1936 the village of Scholitz was incorporated north of Badrina. In the course of the district reform in the GDR in 1952, Badrina was attached to the Delitzsch district in the Leipzig district , which was added to the Delitzsch district in 1994 .

In 1972, a castle built in the 14th century, which was temporarily owned by the von Egidy family , was demolished due to its dilapidation. On January 1, 1995 Badrina merged with four other communities to form the community of Schönwölkau . In 2002 Badrina took part in the competition Our village has a future .
