The Dahlerbrück train station is a train station in the Schalksmühl district of Dahlerbrück that has been dismantled from the breakpoint . It is on the Hagen – Dieringhausen railway line . Since the closure of all railway lines to Breckerfeld , it has been the station closest to the city of Breckerfeld.

Location and structure

The stop has only one platform that is single-tracked in both directions. There used to be a second track on this platform. The reception building, which is now used as a therapy center, is located between the platform track and the street.

The train station is located in the center of Dahlerbrück and is about 1.6 km as the crow flies north-west of the city center of Schalksmühle - about 1.8 km as the crow flies - and about 3.8 km as the crow flies southeast of the city center of Breckerfeld - about 5.8 km as the crow flies km.

history

Multiple modifications

The former platform was an average of five meters wide and had a 33 meter long roof in the middle. Underneath was the stair access to which a people tunnel led.

The first renovation plan was made in 1999 and was updated in 2002. Among other things, it provided for a new platform between the station building and the track system. The parking lot in front of the building should then be accessible via a staircase that was provided at the southern end of the platform. But the funding option would only be given if the building was converted to make it suitable for the disabled. So the planners at DB Station & Service took the matter up again and presented a new version in a letter dated March 10, 2011. "The Dahlerbrück train station is a traffic station that is used by around 300 travelers per day." In order to improve functionality and quality, this station is to be converted into an area station. The aim is to achieve a "consistent quality and service standard on the course book sections concerned, with a simple and robust construction as well as a restriction to the bare minimum with simultaneous vandalism resistance and ease of cleaning" in the foreground.

The reconstruction of the Dahlerbrück stop experienced a third edition in 2011. As was explained on May 9, 2011 in the building and planning committee in the town hall and previously at an on-site visit, DB Station & Service would have revised the plans for the renovation one more time. The basis of a handicapped accessible facility would be granted building rights by the Federal Railway Authority.

The plan was now to build the platform in the existing location and to connect it to the Glörstrasse level crossing via a 17 meter long access path. For construction, the stairs and the underpass had to be filled in and the roof demolished in order to be able to achieve the required platform width.

Already in 2002 it was planned to have the parking lot next to the breakpoint prepared by the municipality, as it would be the only parking possibility for travelers in the area. But the budget of EUR 25,000 made available has not been used. They should be written again in 2011 in the financial plan of the municipality and be available for 2012, according to the proposed resolution that the committee of the city of Schalksmühle waved through in May 2012.

The Dahlerbrück stop was to be modernized by February 2013. It was done in stages so that the trains could continue to stop in Dahlerbrück in the meantime. The municipal administration also wanted, as had already been planned, to provide funds to create parking spaces on a municipality-owned property at Dahlerbrück train station.

The work at the Dahlerbrück stop was progressing according to a newspaper report from the Westfälische Rundschau on November 14, 2012. The large part of the new platform was already ready at this point. The paving in the front area had meanwhile been completed, so that since November 13, 2012 passengers could go from the barrier to the platform and no longer had to take the route through the tunnel. The railway renewed the system over a length of 110 meters. The platform was designed to be barrier-free. He was given an exit height of 76 centimeters. In addition, the stop was equipped with benches, the red dot with a ticket machine and a passenger information system, which was already installed. The train traffic was not affected by the work. The Volmetalbahn stopped at the completed section of the platform. Dahlerbrück train station is used by around 300 travelers a day. In the coming year, the community of Schalksmühle also wanted to start planning the expansion of the parking lot next to the train station. In the 2013 budget, 5,000 euros should be made available for planning costs. The actual expansion should then take place in 2014.

Planning

There were plans to implement the Volmetalbahn from Dortmund via Hagen to Lüdenscheid as a light rail . The tram should run directly from Dortmund city center via Hagen city center to downtown Lüdenscheid . In 1997, a concept for the Hagen regional light rail system was presented, which was rejected for reasons of cost despite the transport benefits.
