Iserlohn East is the name of a former, on 15 June 1885 opened station at the now disused railway line Iserlohn - Hemer - Menden (section of the railway line Letmathe-Fröndenberg ). Passenger traffic at the station was shut down on May 28, 1989. In the direction of Menden, the line was also closed at the same time, in the direction of Iserlohn only in May 1995.

Until 1989, local trains of the then Deutsche Bundesbahn usually ran every hour west to Iserlohn station (there connection to the Ardey railway ) and sometimes further to Iserlohn- Letmathe (there connection to the Ruhr-Sieg line ). On the other hand, local trains ran hourly in an easterly direction via the Iserlohn-Buchenwäldchen stop and on via Hemer , Menden and Fröndenberg to Unna .

The Iserlohner Ostbahnhof had a reception building with a counter hall and had its own goods handling facility . Until 1959, Iserlohn Ost station had a public transport link with the local tram operated by Iserlohner Kreisbahn AG .

The station was located on Friedrichstrasse in the east of Iserlohn's city center in the immediate vicinity of the district building of the former Iserlohn district , which today houses the headquarters of the district police authority for the Märkische Kreis . The station building, the goods handling hall, the station keeper's house and the platform systems were demolished in May 2007.

In the meantime, the building served as a home for asylum seekers.

In 2009 the construction of a discount market and a pet shop began. The completion and opening of both stores was in 2010. In the same year, the city of Iserlohn, which owns the property of the former Ostbahnhof, started building a fire station for the fire department's city center fire department . The completion was in April 2011. The fire fighting group Stadtmitte has been located there since May 2011.
