The Lübben (Spreewald) station , in Lower Sorbian Dwórnišćo Lubin (Błota) , is the main train station of the Brandenburg district town of Lübben (Spreewald) in the Dahme-Spreewald district . The Lübben train station, which was modernized in 1999, was named the most customer-friendly small - town train station of the year by the Pro Schiene Alliance in 2004.

history

The station was built together with the Berlin – Görlitz railway line . The Berlin – Cottbus section, on which Lübben was located, was opened in 1866. Between 1898 and 1967 the meter-gauge Spreewald Railway had an end point north of the reception building.

Infrastructure

Since 1999, the station has had three platform edges, each 76 centimeters high . The platforms on tracks 1 and 2 are each 300 meters long, the edge of the platform on track 3 is 140 meters. An underpass, which is also equipped with elevators, connects the main platform ( platform 1) with the central platform on which platforms 2 and 3 are located.

The station building in the northeast of the track system has been preserved and modernized. A large freight shed has been preserved from the former freight transport facilities on the southwest side of the station. South of the goods shed was the Lübben Nord stop of the Niederlausitzer Eisenbahn from 1897 until the cessation of passenger traffic in June 1995 . This led in the further course with a large swing over the main route. South of the stop there was a track connection between the two railways, trains ending or beginning in Lübben and in the direction of Luckau also drove into the state train station. The terminus of the Spreewald Railway was located north of the reception building since 1898 . In addition to a platform, there were also three trestle or trolley pits for stooling standard-gauge cars. The railway was shut down in 1967 and the facilities were then dismantled.

links

The station is served by one pair of trains per day by the IC line 56 of DB Fernverkehr and every hour or two hour by three regional lines in the Berlin-Brandenburg transport association, operated by the East German Railway and DB Regio Nordost . Buses of the regional transport company Dahme-Spreewald stop on the station forecourt .

The narrow-gauge Spreewaldbahn served the Ostbahnhof, about 4.8 kilometers from the station on the trunk road to Frankfurt (Oder) (today's federal highway 87 ), and the connecting station near the main station, where the transition to the standard-gauge Berlin-Görlitz Railway was possible. The Niederlausitzer Eisenbahn used the north and south stations, which were to the west and about 1200 meters south of the main station. Lübben thus had five train stations at the beginning of the 20th century. The Spreewaldbahn was shut down, the buildings of which are partially preserved. The Hartmannsdorf (Niederlausitz) and Lübben-Neuendorf stops have been part of Lübben since the villages were incorporated. Like the Lübben Hp stop (formerly the north station) and the Lübben Süd station (the former south station), the Niederlausitz railway served them seasonally until 2008. In addition, the Lubolz stop has belonged to Lübben since the incorporation of Lubolz. The regional trains on line 24 stop here.
