The Rotterdam Alexander Station is a transit station of the Dutch railway company NS , in the municipality Prins Alexander in the Dutch city of Rotterdam . It is the busiest station in the city after Rotterdam Centraal station. It is located on the railway line from Rotterdam to Utrecht, which is one of the most important and busiest in the whole of the Netherlands. All passing trains stop at the station.

history

The station was opened in 1968 after the district's population increased. The original station building of the sextant design was demolished in 1983 and replaced by a larger building. In the same year, the double-track metro station was set up directly below the station, but not underground. The Alexandrium shopping center has existed in the immediate vicinity since 1984 . These factors make the station an important station for commuters, transfer passengers and passers-by.
