The Woerden station is a through station of the Dutch railway company NS in the Dutch town of Woerden .
history
The station was opened with the first section from Utrecht to Gouda of the Utrecht – Rotterdam line on May 21, 1855 by "Nederlandsche Rhijnspoorweg-Maatschappij". In 1911 the station received a new Art Nouveau building . The station was modernized between 1993 and 1996, although the station retained its striking Art Nouveau building. Changes were made to the old wooden pedestrian bridge over the tracks, among other things. This has been replaced by a more modern version. The old wooden roof over the tracks has been replaced by a modern extension at the entrance. This enables a reliable shelter even with the continuous increase in passengers.
