The associated town of Sandersleben (Anhalt) has belonged to Arnstein as a district since 2010 . The train station is in the west of the city near a sports field and the Wipper . history

The station was opened on October 15, 1871 with the opening of the Könnern  - Aschersleben section by the Magdeburg-Halberstädter Eisenbahngesellschaft (MHE). With the construction of the Berlin-Blankenheim Railway by the Prussian State Railway , a second station was built to the west of the existing facilities. Since the MHE refused to use its reception building by the state railway, the station, which opened on May 15, 1879, was given its own reception building, which was located east of the new line, thus in the middle between the two lines. After the nationalization of the MHE in 1879, the building was given another use from 1871.

In the 1980s, the Erfurt  - Magdeburg connection (Berlin - Blankenheim line) via Sandersleben (Anh) was used by three pairs of express trains and a few passenger trains. At that time, an expansion of the line was planned to relieve the alternative route via Bitterfeld and Naumburg . This should be done above all for freight transport . An electrification was provided at that time; However, this was canceled after the erection of some catenary masts (for example south of Sandersleben (Anhalt) near Blankenheim ).

The station is designed as an island station , with the track of the Berlin-Blankenheimer Bahn (track 3) to the west and the tracks of the Halle-Vienenburger Bahn (tracks 1 and 2) to the east of the reception building of the Berlin-Blankenheimer Bahn. At the northern head of the station, the Berlin-Blankenheimer Bahn crosses the Halle-Vienenburger Bahn. North and south of the reception building of the Berlin-Blankenheimer Bahn, the two routes are connected to each other by routes. All tracks have side platforms, a pedestrian tunnel connects platforms 1 and 2. The latter is usually no longer used.

To the east of platform 2 is the former station building of the Magdeburg-Halberstädter Railway Company , which the Halle-Vienenburger Bahn started operating in 1865.

The Sandersleben (Anh) train station has been made barrier-free with elevators .

The former railway water tower east of the tracks north of the first reception building is a listed building.
