Bahren is a district of the municipality Peuschen in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia . The place belongs administratively to the administrative community Ranis-Ziegenrück .

location

The place Bahren is located in the northern part of the district, about fifteen kilometers (as the crow flies ) northwest of the district town of Schleiz and two kilometers south of the main municipality Peuschen. The highest point is the titmouse wood ( 482.7  m above sea level ).

history

Bahren was first mentioned in a document on December 29, 1278. Until 1815 Bahren was in the Saxon office of Ziegenrück in the Neustädter Kreis . The village, which was independent until 1994, then belonged to the Ziegenrück district until 1952 , which until 1945 was part of the Erfurt administrative district of the Prussian province of Saxony. From 1952 to 1994 it belonged to the Pößneck district .

From 1789 to 1838 the Adler family resided on the fiefdom located in the village, which belonged to the Knau estate, previously the von Einsiedel and then the von Gehring family.

In 1933 94 people lived in Bahren, in 1939 there were 83 inhabitants.
