Balışeyh is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Kırıkkale . The city is located about 20 kilometers east of the provincial capital Kırıkkale . The name of the village goes back to Şeyh Edebali, a contemporary of Ertuğrul Gazi .
The district is located in the center of the province. It borders in the west on the central district, in the north on Sulakyurt , in the east on Delice and in the south on Keskin . The European route 88 , which leads from Ankara to Sivas , crosses the district and the city from west to east . In the village, a road branches off to Sulakyurt in the north. A TCDD railway line , which connects Kırıkkale with Kayseri , runs roughly parallel to the E-88 . In the north of the district lies a part of the Karagüney Dağları Mountains , in the south an extension of the Dinek Dağı with the 1744 meter high Kekik Tepesi .
The district was created in 1990 and consists of the district town ( Belediye ) and 28 villages ( Köy ), of which the largest ( Kulaksız ) has 345 inhabitants. The average population of the 28 villages is 172. The district town is home to 33% of the district's population.
