Yahşihan is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Kırıkkale . The city is located about 5 kilometers west of the provincial capital Kırıkkale . The district town connects directly to the west of the provincial capital and is crossed by the European route 88 , which connects Ankara with Sivas . A TCDD railway line runs parallel to this and runs from Ankara to Kayseri . Both roughly follow the Kızılırmak , which flows through the district from south to north. In the west, a foothill of the Karagüney Dağı Mountains with the peaks İkiz Tepesi (1269 m) and Aparca Tepesi (1039 m) runs through the area.

The district is located in the west of the province. It borders the central district to the north and east , Balışeyh to the south and Ankara Province to the west . The district was created in 1990 by Law No. 3644. In addition to the district town ( Merkez ), it includes seven villages, of which Irmak (1,243 inhabitants) is the largest. The district town unites around 90 percent of the current district population.
