Gang war (original title In the Line of Duty: Street War ) is an American action thriller directed by Dick Lowry from 1992 . The script was inspired by Mark Kriegel 's article "Living Large" , which describes true events.

The New York cops Robert Dayton and Raymond Williamson are friends. Justice Butler, a drug trafficker, kills Williamson while patrolling a high-rise building. Dayton is not entrusted with the murder case because his superiors feel that he is too emotionally involved. He wants to avenge the death of his friend and is looking for a butler on his own.
