Category 6 - The Day of the Tornado

Category 7 - The End of the World is a film directed by Dick Lowry and produced in the USA in 2005. It is a sequel to the 2004 film Category 6 - The Day of the Tornado .

Judith Carr is the director of FEMA, which monitors tornadoes . After a tornado devastated Chicago , more tornadoes raged in numerous countries around the world. The Paris Eiffel Tower is destroyed. Tornadoes are also reported from Egypt .

Tommy Dixon, wounded in Chicago, and Faith Clavell help Carr with her work. Colonel Mike Davis clears up with his plane.

The television preacher Donny Hall and his wife Penny warn the population. They compare the tornadoes to the biblical plagues.

The storms culminate with a particularly strong Category 7 tornado hurtling towards Washington, DC .

"The (television) disaster film uses the basic scenario for an exaggerated spectacle that loses sight of all probability and staging care," says the lexicon of international film .

Awards

The film was nominated in 2006 for sound editing for the Emmy Award , the Motion Picture Sound Editors Award (in two categories) and the Cinema Audio Society Award . He was also nominated for the Saturn Award in 2006.

In Manitoba , Canada turned film cost about 15 million US dollars . Los Angeles- based company CBS Digital was responsible for its special effects .

The film has been released so far in Germany (November 24, 2006), USA (first on November 6, 2006), Great Britain (January 15, 2006), Australia (February 26, 2006), Spain (March 6, 2006), Sweden (March 31, 2006) Televised July 28, 2006) and Argentina (October 28, 2006). It was released on DVD in France on June 21, 2006.
