Hydrology
At the confluence with the Meuse, the mean flow rate (MQ) is 5.60 m³ / s; the catchment area here covers 424.9 km².
In Cheveuges, the average annual runoff from the bar was calculated over a period of 50 years (1970–2019) . The catchment area at this point corresponds to about 389 km², about 91.6% of the total catchment area of the bar.
The flow rate of the bar , with the annual average of 5.21 m³ / s, fluctuates strongly over the course of the year. The highest water levels are measured in the winter months from December to March. The flow rate reached its peak at 10.50 m³ / s in the two months of January and February. From April onwards the discharge decreases month by month and reaches its lowest level in September with 1.31 m³ / s, after which it increases again from month to month.
