Bartosz Bosacki [ ˈbartɔʃ bɔˈsatsci ] (born December 20, 1975 in Poznan , Poland ) is a former Polish football player .

Club career

Bosacki began his career as a footballer with the Polish club SKS 13 Poznan , where he played until he was twenty. From there he moved to the largest club in his hometown, Lech Posen , where he made his debut in the Polish top division against Zagłębie Lubin in April 1995 .

He played for Lech until 1998 before moving to Amica Wronki . There he won the Polish Cup in 1999 and 2000, and in 2002 he moved back to his first professional club, where he played until 2004.

For the 2004/05 season , the central defender moved to 1. FC Nürnberg . Here he made his Bundesliga debut against 1. FC Kaiserslautern , but only played thirteen Bundesliga games this season due to a serious hip injury. Also in 2005/06 he was part of the Bundesliga squad of 1. FC Nürnberg, but was rarely used.

In January 2006 the contract with 1. FC Nürnberg was terminated by mutual agreement. Bosacki rejoined the Polish first division club Lech Posen . He played for Lech for another 5.5 years before ending his career after the 2010/11 season.

National team

Bosacki also played for the Polish national team, after his debut against the Faroe Islands on February 10, 2002, he played a total of 19 more international matches.

In 2006 he was nominated for the World Cup after Damian Gorawski could not participate due to heart problems for health reasons. There he moved into the starting line-up in the last group game against Costa Rica due to the injury of Mariusz Jop and decided the match with his two goals (and thus Poland's only two goals at the World Cup) in favor of Poland. He was then voted "Man of the Match".
