The Baumit GmbH (until 2009 BaumitBayosan ) is a 1902 under the name Bayosan established in southern Germany and acting in the whole of Germany building materials manufacturer with headquarters in Bad Hindelang in the Allgäu and belongs to the group of companies Baumit International . In 2006 the company achieved a turnover of around 105 million euros with 350 employees ; In 2009 it was around 130 million euros with around 450 employees and in 2018 it was already 183 million euros with around 560 employees. His customers include building material dealers , building contractors , plasterers , painters and planners.

On January 1, 2003, the company was taken over by Schmid Industrie Holding and on January 1, 2004 it was merged with the Baumit division of the Wopfinger building materials industry to form BaumitBayosan GmbH & Co. KG .

history

The company was founded in 1902 as a producer of building lime . Factory dry mortar has also been produced since 1968 .

In 1981 a renovation plaster system was introduced due to increasing demand in the area of old building renovation .

In 1988 the entire company was majority-owned by the Wietersdorfer Group and Schmid Industrie Holding , restructured and renamed BAYOSAN Wachter GmbH & Co KG . In 2000, 50% of the production sites in Aldingen and Biblis were taken over by the civil engineering company Karl Epple and 100% of a production facility in Taucha and converted into BAYOSAN Epple Mörtel- und Putzsysteme GmbH & Co. KG .

On January 1, 2003, Bayosan was completely taken over by the Austrian company Baumit and on January 1, 2004 it was merged into the Baumit division of the Wopfingen building materials industry to form BaumitBayosan GmbH & Co. KG . The company operates a further 8 production sites in Germany.

This subsidiary was dissolved on May 31, 2009 and fully integrated into Baumit International as of June 1, 2009 and renamed Baumit GmbH.

In 2002 the company was honored with the gold medal for outstanding performance in monument preservation and the development of special monument preservation building materials in Europe.
