Taksimo ( Russian Таксимо ) is an urban-type settlement and administrative center of the Rajons Muiski the Republic of Buryatia ( Russia ). The place has 9438 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

Taksimo is located in the Muisker Plain in the far northeast of the Republic of Buryatia on the Muja River about 400 kilometers east of Severobaikalsk .

history

Since 1863, the Muisker level settled in the area Buryat coming from the Chara had immigrated -region as previously Evenki . The name Taksimo comes from the Evenk language and means cup or bowl , possibly because the place is like a bowl between the northern (Severomuisker) and southern Muja Mountains (Yuzhnomuisker Mountains).

Taksimo arose as a settlement of escaped exile Ivan Alexeyevich Barantschejew that during the unrest in the Lena-mining area in 1905 from the settlement Kirensk deposed, the river Vitim up emigrated and settled in this place 1910th The hermitage of Ivan Barantschejew developed over time into a relaxation for traders with horse-drawn vehicles, but it was not until 1920 that other families settled. Therefore, 1920 is considered the year Taksimo was founded. By 1934 the population of the Muisker Ebene exceeded 1500 people.

In connection with the construction of the Baikal Amur Mainline (BAM), Taksimo developed into an urban-type settlement (the status was granted in 1981). With the start of regular rail operations on the BAM Severobaikalsk – Taksimo section, Muiski Rajon became independent in 1989 and Taksimo became its administrative seat.

economy

Logging and mining ( gold extraction ) are carried out on a modest scale in the area . The economic importance of the place Taksimo itself consists in its important station on the Baikal-Amur-Magistrale (route kilometers 1469). The electrification of the line from the west ends here .

The road following the railway also runs through Taksimo.

There is a small airport not far from the settlement.
