Beate Debus (* 1957 in Eisenach ) is a German sculptor and graphic artist .

Life

Beate Debus did an apprenticeship as wood sculptor in Empfertshausen from 1973 to 1976 . From 1976 to 1980 she studied wood design at the technical college (today technical college) for applied arts in Schneeberg with Hans Brockhage . She has been working as a freelancer since 1980 , she lives and works in Dermbach .

To the sculptor Beate Debus, humans appear like architecture. “She works out the functional and meaningful parts and reassembles them according to their respective intentions and in abstract form. Despite their isolation, an organically coherent overall form emerges in the end. … Beate Debus seeks to express mental states as symbols of sensitivities that are worth generalizing by means of body postures and forms. ...
