Federal Commissioner

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Federal Government Commissioners , Federal Commissioners and Coordinators are appointed in Germany by a Federal Minister or the Federal Chancellor and support them in an independent and advisory manner. They are not part of the management hierarchy.

According to Section 21 of the Joint Rules of Procedure of the Federal Ministries (GGO), they are to be involved at an early stage in all projects that affect their tasks.

In 2018 there were 39 federal commissioners, agents and coordinators of the federal government. In 2010 there were 35 and two years earlier 32. Responsibilities have changed over the years. For example, 29 of them have been abolished in the last few decades, mainly because their topic has been dropped, such as civil service , inner-German relations or the Treuhandanstalt .
