The Beidendorfer See (official name Klempauer Hof-See ) is a lake east of Krummesse in the area of the municipality of Klempau in the Duchy of Lauenburg in the immediate vicinity of the Lübeck district of Beidendorf .

geography

The lake is a flat beach lake. It has a size of 9 hectares and is at a height of 9.80 m above sea level . The greatest water depth is 6.90 m, the average depth 3.20 m. The west and south banks are wooded, in the north a district road leads from Krummesse to Beidendorf.

The body of water has two drains, the Beidendorfer Graben and the Klempauer Hofseegraben, which drain through further ditches in the direction of Wakenitz .

history

The Beidendorf, which gives the popular name, was previously called Begendorf after the locator Bege. The lake belonged to Krummesse Castle around 1330 . In 1379 the knight Marquard von Krummesse sold half of the lake together with what was later known as the Brömbsenmühle to the Lübeck councilor Segebodo Crispin . In 1382 the merchant Gerhard Darsow and his brother Hermann acquired half of the village of Krummesse as well as half of Niemark and a share in Beidendorfer See for 800 marks. In 1747, as part of the settlement over the Möllner Pertinenzien , the lake fell to the Duchy of Lauenburg, which belongs to Kurhannover , and to Gut Klempau, which was separated from the associated village of Klempau in 1788 and only reunited with it in 1928. Today the lake is owned by the Duchy of Lauenburg district. The Behlendorfer Feldmark, however, had been the property of the St. Johanniskloster in Lübeck for centuries .

use

The Beidendorfer See is leased as the club water of the Lübeck sports fishing club and has a good fish population of eels , perches , pikes , carp and tench . The fishing club maintains a club area on the lake.

There is a public bathing area that is very popular in summer.
