The Belaja Choluniza ( Russian Бе́лая Холуни́ца ) is a 160 km, according to other sources 168 km long left tributary of the Vyatka in the European part of Russia .

course

The Belaya Cholunitsa rises in the eastern Kirov oblast near the village of Makarowschtschina in the Kama Heights , not far from the border with the Udmurt Republic . It flows through the densely wooded, hilly region initially in a north-westerly and north-westerly direction.

20 km east of Belaya Cholunitsa it turns to the west. On the eastern edge of the city, the Belaja Choluniza is dammed up to the Belocholunizki Prud reservoir ( Белохолуницкий пруд ). After the Soma confluence a few kilometers below Belaya Cholunitsa, the river turns again in predominantly north-westerly directions. At the urban-type Oktyabrsky settlement , it turns to the southwest and finally reaches the Vyatka a few kilometers south of Slobodskoi .

use

Belaya Cholunitsa, which is mainly fed by meltwater , is frozen on average from November to April. It is used for tourism by boat hikers .
