Ben Thomson (born June 30, 1982 in Coaldale , Alberta ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played in the 2nd Bundesliga at EV Ravensburg until 2012 .

Career

Thomson began his career in 1997 with the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League , where he spent six seasons. There followed three years at the University of Alberta between 2003 and 2006 before the Houston Eros from the American Hockey League signed him at the beginning of the 2006/07 season .

After a year with the Eros, he moved to Europe to the Klagenfurt AC in the Austrian Bundesliga . Thomson completed 17 games for the team before moving to the 2nd Bundesliga for EV Ravensburg in the 2007/08 season . In the following 35 games of the season, the right-shooter scored 26 times and prepared 24 goals.

In the following two years he developed into one of the leading players in the club and won the Bundesliga 2 championship with him at the end of the 2010/11 season .

In 2012 he ended his career. His jersey number 29 has not been awarded by the Towerstar since then.
