The Championnat National du Benin is the top football division in Benin .

The league was founded in 1969, but due to the politically unstable situation in the country, no championship was held or completed in a few years. The current champions are the Buffles du Borgou FC , while the country's historically most successful football club is AS Dragons FC de l'Ouémé with twelve titles.

Two groups play against each other in the regular season with a return game. The four best teams in each group play the champions in play-offs, while the last two teams out the relegation team in a relegation round. Since 2018 the championship has been single-track (with 19 teams), from 2019 the championship will be reduced to 14 teams.
