The Sierra Leone Premier League (SLPL), formerly the Sierra Leone National Premier League , the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLAFA) is the highest league of men's football in Sierra Leone . It was established in 1967 and was sponsored by the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank for many years . From 2008 to 2015 the league received financial support from the mobile network operator Africell .
For the first time since 2015, the SLPL will take place again in the 2019 season . She was here for the first time by the Government of Sierra Leone with at least 230,000 US dollars perhaps but sponsored, US $ 400,000.

Most successful teams
The only league in Sierra Leone between 1923 and the 1970s was a regional league in the Western Area . It was held until 1967 under the umbrella of the SLFA, then under the leadership of the WAFA (Western Area Football Association). A national league has existed since 1980.
