Benjamin Duboc (born May 20, 1969 ) is a French bassist and composer .

Live and act

Duboc first learned piano and clarinet at the conservatory; later the double bass was added, which he u. a. studied with Jean-François Jenny-Clark and Bernard Cazauran . He first worked with Gaël Mevel and Thierry Waziniak before joining the Octopus formation in 1993 , which also included Benoist Raffin and Jobic le Masson . In the following years he worked on numerous projects in the field of free jazz and improvisation music , among others. a. with Michel Doneda , Oliver Lake , Joëlle Léandre , Henry Grimes , Roy Campbell , Mario Rechtern , Eric Zinman , Sunny Murray , Daunik Lazro , Hasse Poulsen , Rasul Siddik , Christine Wodrascka , Hilary Jeffery or Jack Wright . In addition to duo recordings with Edward Perraud ( Etau , 2005) and Itaru Oki ( Nobusiku , 2010), he also presented a solo album and an album with electroacoustic compositions . He also composed electro-acoustic film music for films by Bernard Cerf , Franck Gourdien and Chiara Malta . He has also worked on various literature, theater and dance projects.
