The festival for young politics has been held twice so far. Both festivals were events of the action program for more youth participation , initiated by the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth , the Federal Agency for Political Education and the German Federal Youth Council . They took place in the leisure and recreation center (FEZ) in Berlin 's Volkspark Wuhlheide .

“Berlin 05 - Festival for Young Politics” took place from June 10 to 15, 2005 and was the highlight of “Project P”, as the action program for more youth participation was called at the time. The participating participants were looked after by the youth participation service point . The event was organized by the Berlin 05 project office c / o Visionauten .

The Campmedien-Live-Zeitung politikorange and the online reporting were organized by the youth press . The campaign radio project SAY WHAT! reporting from the 300 youth projects was on FM 105.2. There were numerous representatives from politics, youth associations and youth information on site.

Musical guests included Tocotronic , Die Fantastischen Vier , Clueso and Max Herre . In addition, a number of groups presented themselves; Among other things, as part of Camp Discordia, the Chaos Computer Club , Wikipedia and the art sports group Umgehungstechnik Berlin .

The political community dol2day was represented in its own tent and offered, among other things, introductory rounds into the structures of the site, the political compass (for dol2day parties) and the “Chancellor Rally” as a festival game. In addition, discussions with well-known politicians such as Renate Schmidt , Hans-Christian Ströbele , Anna Lührmann , Jens Spahn , Johannes Vogel and Stephan Schilling took place - analogous to the internet chats that dol2day otherwise regularly conducts .

"Berlin 08 - The Festival for Young Politics" took place from June 13th to 15th, 2008 in the FEZ in Volkspark Wuhlheide and was an event by "du-machst.de" the "Action Program for More Youth Participation".

This time too, the youth press in Germany organized the online reporting and published three daily issues of the festival newspaper nullacht . On VHF 95.2 and as a live stream , the von fluter was broadcast in cooperation with the festivalfrequenz e. V. produced festival radio. The festival television was produced by politikorangeTV , SPIESSER TV and ROOTS & ROUTES TV and broadcast, among other things, on the Berlin Offener Kanal and as web TV .

A large number of organizations, associations, initiatives and projects, including the Chaos Computer Club and Wikipedia, ensured a packed festival calendar with over five hundred events, workshops and campaigns. In addition to Wir sind Helden , Culcha Candela , Madsen , Boundzound and others, young bands also played on the main or side stage. From the world of politics, Wolfgang Thierse , Ursula von der Leyen , Rainer Eppelmann , Gerd Müller , Christian Schmidt and Kajo Wasserhövel took part in panel discussions. The political community dol2day answered questions from Klaus Uwe Benneter , Petra Pau and Franziska Drohsel , among others .

The program organization and implementation was taken over by Luna Park 64 and the participant support by lab concepts .
