The Berlin Football Championship 1927/28 was the seventeenth under the Brandenburg football championship discharged (VBB) Berlin Football Championship . The championship was held this season in two groups with ten teams in a round-robin tournament with a round trip. The two group winners then played in the final of the Berlin soccer championship. In the end, Hertha BSC was able to win the final against the Berlin tennis club Borussia and was Berlin soccer champion for the seventh time. With this victory, the club qualified for the German soccer championship 1927/28 . As in the previous two years, Hertha BSC reached the final of the German soccer championship again. After victories over the United Breslauer Sportfreunde in the round of 16, Holstein Kiel in the quarter-finals and FC Wacker Munich in the semi-finals, the Herthaners had to admit defeat to Hamburger SV 2: 5 in the final on July 29, 1928 . The Berlin tennis club Borussia was also qualified for the German soccer championship as Berlin runner-up. After a 3-1 win over Preussen Krefeld , Tennis-Borussia reached the quarter-finals, which were lost 4-1 to FC Wacker Munich .
