Bernard Blasius Moras

Bernard Blasius Moras (born August 10, 1941 in Kuppepadavu ) is an Indian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Bangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka .

Life

Bernard Blasius Moras was ordained a priest on December 6, 1967 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Belgaum on November 30, 1996 . The old archbishop of Bombay , Simon Ignatius Cardinal Pimenta , donated him episcopal ordination on February 25 of the following year ; Co- consecrators were Ignatius P. Lobo , Former Bishop of Belgaum, and Aloysius Paul D'Souza , Bishop of Mangalore .

He was named Archbishop of Bangalore on July 22, 2004, and was installed in office on September 17 of the same year. Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on March 19, 2018.
