As an A-youth, Bernd Gorski completed twelve youth international matches in 1977 and 1978 and also took part with the DFB team in the two UEFA tournaments of those years alongside fellow players Walter Junghans and Bernd Schuster . For the 1978/79 season, Hamburger SV brought the then 18-year-old Gorski from city rivals FC St. Pauli together with the other newcomers Jimmy Hartwig , Horst Hrubesch , Hans-Günther Plücken and Bernd Wehmeyer . Gorski struggled against the strong competition under coach Branko Zebec and therefore went to the 2nd Bundesliga in October 1979 after a Bundesliga assignment to Hannover 96 .

From 1979 to 1984, the defensive player for the "Reds" completed 168 second division games and scored 15 goals. From 1979 to 1980 he came to four appearances in the DFB- U 21 . For the round 1984/85 he accepted the contract offer from Eintracht Braunschweig and returned to the 1st Bundesliga. Under the coaches Aleksandar Ristić and Heinz Patzig , he completed 33 games with five goals at the side of teammates Reinhold Hintermaier , Peter Lux and Ronald Worm , but the Braunschweig group was relegated to 18th in the final table that season. Gorski stayed with Eintracht in the 2nd Bundesliga and played 156 games for the Blue-Yellows from 1985 to 1991 and scored five goals. Overall, he is led in the 2nd division with 324 games and 20 goals. From 07/2005 to 12/2008 Bernd Gorski coached SV Werl-Aspe in the District League Season 01 and in the District League A Lemgo.
