Bernhard Reinhard Averbeck (born July 2, 1874 in Bremen ; † October 17, 1930 in Jena ) was a German lawyer and industrial manager .

Life

Bernhard Averbeck was the son of the doctor Heinrich Averbeck (1844-1889). He attended the old grammar school in Bremen until 1889 and then moved to his guardian Otto Binswanger in Jena . In 1895 he graduated from high school Carolo-Alexandrinum in Jena. He then studied law at the University of Bonn , the University of Strasbourg , the Justus Liebig University of Gießen , the University of Munich and the University of Jena . During this time Averbeck was active in the Corps Rhenania in Strasbourg and in the Corps Teutonia in Giessen. In 1899 he was at the University of Jena with a thesis on The essence of share subscription to the Dr. jur. utr. PhD.

At first he worked alternately at the courts in Weimar and Jena as a trainee lawyer and assessor . From 1904 to 1906 he was a lawyer in Weimar. From 1905 Averbeck was a member of the supervisory board of the Saxon-Thuringian Portland cement factory Prüssing & Co. KGaA in Göschwitz near Jena, and from 1913 chairman of the supervisory board. In 1906 he took over the management of the Rheinische Chamotte- und Dinaswerke in Cologne . From 1910 to 1914 he was personally liable partner of KGaA CA Schietrumpf & Co. in Jena.

From 1918 Averbeck was personally liable partner and senior manager of the Saxon-Thuringian Portland cement factory Prüssing & Co. in Göschwitz . The company then expanded into the Prüssing Group with plants in Göschwitz, Schönebeck , Unterwellenborn near Saalfeld / Saale ( Thuringia blast furnace cement factory ) and in Nienburg (Saale) ( Jesarbruch cement factory ). Under his leadership Prüssing next to the Heidelberg Group, the wicking Group, which was Dyckerhoff - Group and to increasingly heavy Silesian Portland Cement-Industrie AG in Opole one of the leading cement companies. In 1921 he founded the Godhard-Prüssing - Foundation , to ensure the supply of foremen and employees of the company in case of emergencies. From 1924 he was chairman of the supervisory board of the North German Cement Association (NCV) in Berlin. Until 1924 Averbeck was a member of the supervisory board of the Portland cement factory "Rudelsburg" AG in Bad Kösen .

Finally, after Heinrich Müller's death in 1927, he became chairman of the supervisory board of the German Cement Association (DZB) in Berlin, which was founded in 1917 . Also in 1927, together with the construction company Kell & Löser AG in Leipzig, he founded the Thurvia-Baugesellschaft mbH in Berlin, preferably for the construction of concrete roads. His son Horst Averbeck was the temporary managing director of this company . From 1928 Averbeck was a member of the supervisory board of the German Portland cement factory "Adler" AG in Berlin and from 1929 a member of the supervisory board of the Schlesische Portland-Cement-Industrie AG in Opole . Since his son did not want to be his successor, in 1930 he approved the conversion of the Prüssing Group into a stock corporation and the simultaneous formation of an interest group (IG) of the Prüssing Group with the Schlesische Portland-Cement-Industrie AG in Opole simultaneous application for an IG with Portland-Cementwerke Heidelberg-Mannheim-Stuttgart AG (today: HeidelbergCement AG ); he had particularly close contact with the chairman of the supervisory board, Friedrich Schott (1850–1934).

In addition, he was a member of the presidency of the Association of Central German Industry. V. in Weimar, board member of the Central German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Weimar and member of the tax court at the state tax office of Thuringia. As chairman of the supervisory board, he was also a member of the administration of the Gothaische Kohlensäurewerke . He was a member of the supervisory board of Leipziger Baumesse AG .
