Bernhard Schulte Berge

Bernhard Schulte Berge (born September 28, 1955 in Kamen ) is a German major general a. D. His last assignment was Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff at the Air Operations Center in Kalkar .

Life

Bernhard Schulte Berge joined the German Armed Forces in 1974 and completed his basic training in Roth in the 5th company of the Air Force Training Regiment 3 , which was followed by officer training at the Air Force Officer School in Neubiberg from 1974 to 1975 . From 1975 to 1978 Schulte Berge studied economics and organizational sciences at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg , after which he switched to the Control and Reporting Center (CRC) in Uedem as a radar control officer .

From 1986 to 1988 he took part in the 31st General Staff Course of the Air Force at the Command Academy of the German Armed Forces before he was deployed as a staff officer in the Military Counter-Intelligence Service (MAD) in MAD Group III in Düsseldorf . This was followed by a position as head of department at the air fleet command in Cologne from 1991 to 1993 and as a consultant at the Federal Ministry of Defense in the command staff of the armed forces in Bonn until 1994.

From 1994 to 1997 he was in command of the radar guidance department 23 in Lauda-Königshofen . In 1997 Schulte Berge became a consultant for the German representation of NATO in Brussels . From 1999 to 2001 he worked again as course director of the 44th general staff course at the management academy, before he switched to the military counterintelligence service in the MAD office in Cologne as a department head.

After further staff activities as head of department in the Federal Ministry of Defense in the command staff of the armed forces and the air force from 2003 to 2008, Schulte Berge led his next assignment to Brussels as head of department of the permanent German representation of NATO (2008-2011) and as head of department of the permanent German EU Representation (2011-2014).

From October 2014 to March 29, 2018 he was Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff Center Air Operations and was promoted to Major General in 2015. In March 2018 he handed over this post to Major General Walter Huhn and retired at the end of the month after 44 years of service.

Bernhard Schulte Berge is married.
