The Biela Orava (German White Arwa ) is a 35.4 km long river in northern Slovakia in the traditional Orava landscape and one of the two source rivers of the Orava . The other source river, the Czarna Orawa ( Čierna Orava in Slovak ), lies entirely in Poland .
The river has its source in the Oravská Magura mountains below the 1325 m-nm high Paráč mountain and initially flows in a northerly direction before changing its general direction to the east at Jasenovská, a small settlement in the Oravská Lesná municipality . Thereafter, the Biela Orava flows into the Beskids , more precisely by the mountains Podbeskydská highlands and notes, in other the left-side Juríkov creek and the right side Zimná voda at Pribišská, the right-side Lomnica at Lomná and the left-side tributaries Klinianka and Mútňanka between Krušetnica and Breza on. At Lokca the right-hand Hruštínka flows into the river, which then flows in an approximately north-easterly direction. At Oravská Jasenica there is also the Veselianka on the left before the Biela Orava flows into the Orava reservoir on the southwestern edge of the city of Námestovo .
Before the damming by the Orava reservoir, the river was a few kilometers longer and merged with the Čierna Orava at the now defunct town of Ústie nad Oravou to form the Orava.
