The Bijlsma Trader 3250 is a coaster type of Dutch shipyard VEKA Shipyard Lemmer. The design comes from Conoship International in Groningen .

history

Eleven units of the ship's design were built. The hulls of the ships were built by the Czech shipyard Loděnice Nova Mělník in Mělník and the Chinese shipyard NSC Marine Corporation in Nantong . Nine units were built for Dutch captain shipowners and are being shipped by Wagenborg Shipping . The last two units built were operated by NedNor. Both ships were sold to the UK in 2015 .

Further units were planned. In the course of the shipping crisis in 2008–2009 , orders that had already been placed were canceled. In some cases, the hulls were still being built, but no longer equipped and approved.

description

The vessels are of a four-stroke - eight-cylinder - diesel engine the manufacturer Wärtsilä (type: 8L20) with 1,440  kW power driven. The engine acts on a controllable pitch propeller . The ships are equipped with a bow thruster with an output of 250 kW.

A shaft generator with 312 kW output (390  kVA apparent power ) and a diesel generator with 140 kW output (175 kVA apparent power) are available for power generation. In addition, an emergency generator with 30 kW power (38 kVA apparent power) was installed.

The deckhouse is located in the rear of the ships. There is space for six crew members on board . In front of the deckhouse is the cargo hold, closed with ten pontoon hatch covers . The hatch covers can be moved with a hatch cart. The cargo area is 63.05 meters long, 9.60 meters wide and 7.48 meters high. It is box-shaped, only tapering slightly in the front area. The ships are equipped with two bulkheads that can be erected in eight positions. The tank top is reinforced and can be loaded with 20 t / m². The hatch covers can be loaded with 1.75 t / m².

The ships are equipped for the transport of containers . The container capacity is 104  TEU . There is space for 56 TEU in the room, 48 on deck.

Artic Junior

One of the hulls built at the Loděnice Nova Mělník shipyard was later converted by VEKA Shipyard Lemmer for Artic Shipping in Førde to supply fish farms with fish feed. The hull was shortened by around 20 meters to 68.37 meters and the ship with two holds - 1,300 m³ for feed pellets and 1,000 m³ for general cargo - and 16 tanks for the transport of 700 t of fish feed. A crane was installed on deck, which can lift 5 t, and on the forecastle a device consisting of conveyor systems and a downpipe for feeding the fish in fish farms at sea. The motorization of the ship was supplemented by a propeller gondola at the stern , which, together with the bow thruster, allowed the ship to hold the position at a fish farm at sea.

The ship was delivered on May 24, 2016 and was launched as Artic Unior (IMO No. 9411800). In 2018 the ship came to AquaShip. The new name of the ship was Aqua Junior .
