Bild is a German private television broadcaster named after the Bild newspaper and based on its online offering, Bild Live . It belongs to the broadcasting group WeltN24 , received in June 2021 broadcasting license and started broadcasting on August 22, 2021st

story

The broadcast license required to start broadcasting as a classic TV station with 24/7 operation was applied for from MABB for August 2021. On June 24, 2021, the Commission for Licensing and Supervision (ZAK) announced the granting of the broadcasting license ( broadcasting license ).

At the end of July 2021, Bild TV started test operations via Astra. On the satellite Astra 19.2 East on transponder 33 there was an indication of the planned start of transmission.

concept

The station is a supplement to the print medium Bild and a further development of the online TV service Bild Live. With Bild TV the publisher operates its third TV channel, the two existing channels are Welt and N24 Doku . Image is marketed by the publishing subsidiary Visoon Media.

The editor-in-chief of Bild TV is Claus Strunz . On June 30, 2021, Sandra Kuhn's change from RTL to Bild TV became public.

On August 2, 2021, Axel Springer announced that Thomas Kausch will be the chief presenter of the Bild Live program for Bild TV. In addition, Thomas Kausch has an advisory role at Springer-Verlag for "moving image strategies" and acts as a trainer at the FreeTech Academy of Journalism and Technology to train television journalists.

program

Bild TV emerged from the online service Bild LIVE . Parts of the planned program of Bild will be broadcast in parallel on N24 Doku . The daily live program with news and current reports will last up to 6 hours. The program is supplemented with documentaries, reports and other formats from the areas of politics, sport, VIP, crime and service topics. In the event of current events, the live routes will be extended as required. In mid-June 2021, the station announced more details about the planned program. For example, on Sunday morning there will be a four-hour follow-up report on the Bundesliga with talks and analysis and on Sunday evening a political talk entitled The Right Questions with Paul Ronzheimer and Kai Weise in direct competition with Anne Will .
