Bill Reichenbach junior
William Frank "Bill" Reichenbach Jr. (born November 20, 1949 in Takoma Park near Washington, DC ) is an American jazz and studio musician . He mainly plays bass trombone , but also tenor trombone and occasionally euphonium and tuba . He has also appeared as a film composer .
Live and act
Reichenbach, the son of drummer Bill Reichenbach senior , played in his father's band with Milt Jackson , Zoot Sims and others in his youth . After college, he studied music at the Eastman School of Music and then played with Buddy Rich in 1972 . He then moved to Los Angeles , where he worked in film and advertising studios and appeared on numerous television shows. In 1976 and 1977 he was also part of the Toshiko Akiyoshi / Lew Tabackin Big Band . He can also be heard on recordings by Don Menza (1979), Tom Scott (1983) and Michael Jackson ( Off the Wall , Thriller and HIStory - Past, Present and Future Book I ) and went on tour with Jaco Pastorius ( Invitation ). In 1984 he released a solo album, Special Edition, with his own quartet . He also composed for Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue .
