Bischofsmühle is a district of the town of Helmbrechts in the Upper Franconian district of Hof . The wasteland consists of an inn with outbuildings.

Geographical location

Bischofsmühle is located in the Franconian Forest Nature Park 2.2 km north-north-east of Enchenreuth , 2.2 km north-west of Lehsten and an average of 1.2 km north-east of Unter- and Oberbrumberg , four districts of Helmbrechts, and 0.9 km south-west of Rodeck and 2, 1 km southeast of Schwarzenstein , two districts of Schwarzenbach am Wald ; Neighboring is the district of Kulmbach with the municipality of Presseck , which ends only about 80 m to the west. The desert is in the valley of the Wild Rodach at about 542  m above sea level. NHN .

It can be reached on a road that branches off from State Road 2211 between Schwarzenstein and Rauschenhammermühle , or in the opposite direction on the same road from St 2194 at Pillmersreuth ; the road leads almost 150 m south of the wasteland next to a road branch at 545  m above a stream bridge. Hiking trails and forest paths lead through it, including the Frankenweg . The Burgstall Radeck is located above a raft pond north of the wasteland in the direction of Rodeck .

history

In a document from 1551, Emperor Charles V allowed the Rodeckers to build a cutting and grinding mill including an oil press ; its first owner was the eponymous Lorentz Bischoff. When the mill was built, there were remains of a previous building. The property was damaged and lost during the Thirty Years War . From 1789 to 1927 the mill belonged to the Hartenstein family.
