Rodach river system

River history

In earlier times the river was used for rafting , in this way wood from the Franconian Forest reached the Netherlands . The starting point was the raft pond at today's Gasthof Bischofsmühle .

Mills

The water power of the Wild Rodach drives numerous sawmills (cutting mills), such as the Dorschenmühle, Rauschenhammermühle and several in the town of Wallenfels .

freetime and recreation

Every year there is a show rafting between Schnappenhammer and Wallenfels. The southern variant of the Rodach hiking trail or rafting trail of the Franconian Forest Association runs along the Wilder Rodach with a length of 26 km.
