The Diocese of Juazeiro ( lat. : Dioecesis Iuazeiriensis ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Juazeiro in the state of Bahia .

history

The diocese of Juazeiro was founded on July 22nd, 1962 by Pope John XXIII. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Christi Ecclesia from cedings of the dioceses of Barra and Bonfim and subordinated to the Archdiocese of São Salvador da Bahia as a suffragan . On January 16, 2002, the Diocese of Juazeiro was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Feira de Santana as a suffragan.
