The Roman Catholic Diocese of Marsabit ( lat. : Dioecesis Marsabitensis ) is in Kenya situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Marsabit .

history

The diocese Marsabit was on November 25, 1964 by Pope Paul VI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Arcana Isaiae from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Nyeri and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Nairobi as a suffragan . On May 21, 1990, the Diocese of Marsabit was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Nyeri as a suffragan. The Diocese of Marsabit gave on June 15, 2001 parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of Maralal .
