The diocese of Merlo-Moreno ( lat. : Dioecesis Merlensis-Morenensis , span. : Diócesis de Merlo-Moreno ) is one in Argentina situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Moreno .

history

The Diocese of Merlo-Moreno was established on May 13, 1997 by Pope John Paul II from cession of territory from the Diocese of Morón . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires as a suffragan .

On October 4, 2019, Pope Francis subordinated the diocese to the Archdiocese of Mercedes-Luján, which was made a metropolitan seat on the same date, as a suffragan.
