Björn Werner (born August 30, 1990 in Berlin ) is a former German American football player on the position of defensive end . He played for the Indianapolis Colts in the National Football League (NFL).

After his active career, Werner became known as a co-producer of the series The American Football Dream , in which German football talents talk about their dreams, and as an expert on ran football . He can also be heard on the weekly podcast “Football Bromance” since the 2018/2019 football season.

Werner began his career in the youth of the Berlin Adler and also played for the High School of Salisbury , Connecticut . Indianapolis Colts

On April 25, 2013 Björn Werner was selected in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft as the 24th player by the Indianapolis Colts . This makes him the first German American football player to be signed in the first round of the selection process. Despite a foot injury and a switch to the position of outside linebacker, he played 13 of the 16 games of the regular season and contributed with 18 tackles and 2.5 sacks to the fact that the Indianapolis Colts won their division with 11: 5 wins and the Play- offs reached.
