Blachownia is a city in Poland in the Silesian Voivodeship . It is the seat of the urban and rural community of Blachownia.

Geographical location
The city is located about two kilometers west of Częstochowa .
City structure
Districts of Blachownia are Stara Blachownia , Ostrowy , Trzepizury , Błaszczyki , Ottonów , Brzózka and Gać Malice .
history
In the 17th century there was a factory in the city . In 1835 a foundry and a rolling mill for sheet metal were built. In 1903 the city was connected to the railway network. The town's first fire brigade was founded in 1920. During the Second World War , the Wehrmacht invaded on September 3, 1939. The city became the seat of the district of Blachstädt . An iron mine was built in 1950. Nine years later the place was recognized as an independent settlement and it was not until 1967 that the place was granted city rights. In 1975 the city became part of the Częstochowa Voivodeship as part of an administrative reform, and in 1999 it became part of the Silesian Voivodeship.
