Blake Berris
Blake Everett Berris (born August 24, 1984 in Minneapolis , Minnesota ) is an American actor .
life and career
Blake Berris was born in the city of Minneapolis to director and screenwriter Kenneth Berris and writer Lauren Berris and grew up in Santa Barbara , California with a sister who now works as an acting teacher. Like her brother, she was also seen in some acting roles in front of the camera. Berris attended the University of California, Los Angeles , from which he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in acting. He then took part in the theater program at Oxford University .
He took his first role in front of the camera in 2005 with a guest appearance in the series Numbers - The Logic of Crime . After a guest role in Hannah Montana , he was seen in the soap opera Zeit der Sehnsucht in 2006 in the role of Nick Fallon , which he initially played until 2009, after his character had to serve a prison sentence. In 2012 he returned to the role and played it until 2014. His performance earned him a 2009 nomination for Best Young Actor at the Daytime Emmy Awards . During his engagement with the soap, Berris appeared, in addition to a few short films, in series such as The Starter Wife , The Mentalist , Breaking Bad , Prime Suspect and The Big Bang Theory . In 2010 he appeared as Keyvon in the independent film The Boys & Girls Guide to Getting Down .
In 2013 he was thriller House of Last Things , alongside Lindsey Haun and RJ Mitte , as Jesse and also took on the role of Dusty in the film Meth Head . For his performance in the latter film, he has won several local independent film awards. In 2015 he stood at the Lobero Theater in Santa Barbara and at the Kirk Douglas Theater in Culver City for the drama If All the Sky Were Paper , which is based on several books dealing with letters from US soldiers. Acting greats such as Lara Dern and Gary Cole were also involved. From 2016, Berris appeared in the series Supergirl , Pretty Little Liars , General Hospital , Bones - The Bone Hunter , Navy CIS , Rebel , Longmire and The Coop . In 2019 he starred as Gus in the drama She's Missing alongside Lucy Fry and Eiza González and also appeared as Fred in a supporting role in the action film Never Grow Old .
Personal
Berris has been married to Alexandra McGuinness from Ireland since 2017 , who works as a director and producer of mostly short films. They married at Killiskey Parish Church in Wicklow, Ireland . In addition to some fellow actors, members of the band U2 , including Bono , took part in the celebration, as McGuinness' grandfather was the band manager of U2. In the summer of 2019, Berris and McGuinness became the parents of a son, whom they named Lir, based on Irish mythology.
