The juniper area near Bleckhausen is a nature reserve in the Vulkaneifel district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
It is located southeast of the community Bleckhausen in the forest district "Etgestalerkopf" and north of the city of Manderscheid . With around three hectares, it is the largest of its kind in the entire Eifel . The south-facing location of the slope on which the protected area is located and the lime-rich soil of the Eifel have promoted very impressive juniper populations that are rarely found outside of the Eifel in Central Europe.
The nature reserve was designated by the Trier district government by ordinance of November 17, 1937.
