The Bleibach is a 23.9 km long orographically right tributary of the Rotbach in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .

geography

The Bleibach is created today by the confluence of several short source streams directly on the Eifelbahn south of Scheven , a district of Kall . The origin lies at an altitude of 380  m above sea level. NN . Running in predominantly north-northeastern directions, the brook flows through Scheven, Denrath and Roggendorf before it is dammed up to Mühlensee before Kommern . The lead sludge that the stream brings with it from the lead mine in which it rises can thus settle harmlessly. Before that, the stream flooded the meadows on its banks in spring, which is why cattle regularly fell ill with the lead content of the grass. However, this protection is not sufficient. After crossing Kommern, the stream passes the villages of Schaven , Firmenich and Obergartzem . The Enzbach flows into the Tissenicher Mühle on the left . The further way leads the brook through Dürscheven , Irresheim , Frauenberg , Oberwichterich to Wichterich . The Bleibach flows here on the northern outskirts at 135  m above sea level. NN from the right into the Rotbach.

With a height difference of 245 m, the mean bed slope is 10.3 ‰. The Bleibach drains its 50.036 km² catchment area via Rotbach, Erft and Rhine to the North Sea.
