Blue Springs is a town in Jackson County in the west of the US -amerikanischen state of Missouri . At the 2010 census , Blue Springs had 52,575 residents.
The city is a suburb of Kansas City and thus also part of the Kansas City metropolitan area .

Blue Springs is located at 39 ° 1'4 "north latitude and 94 ° 16'28" west longitude and extends over 42.2 km², which consists almost entirely of land. The city is located in the western suburbs of Kansas City about 25 km south of the Missouri River . The border with the neighboring state of Kansas is about 30 km west of Blue Springs.
A Union Pacific railway runs through Blue Springs and runs east from Kansas City. Interstate 70 runs through the northern outskirts of Blue Springs and runs in an east-west direction and connects the state's two largest cities with Kansas City and St. Louis on its section through Missouri . US Highway 40 runs parallel through the city center.
On the southwestern outskirts of Blue Springs is Lake Jacomo , a 4 square kilometer reservoir.
